the birth of Christ

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree ordering the census of the entire Roman empire.
This was the first census taken when Quirinius was governor of Syria.
And they all went to their hometown to enlist.
So Joseph also went from the city of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem, the city of David, because he belonged to the house and lineage of David.
He went to enlist with Mary, who was betrothed to him and was expecting a child.
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,  and she brought forth her firstborn. He wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
There were shepherds who were in the fields nearby and at night took care of their flocks.
And it came to pass that an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terrified.
But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I am bringing you good news of great joy, which is for all the people:  Today, in the city of David, a Savior has been born to you, who is Christ the Lord.
This will be a sign for them: they will find the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger."
Suddenly, a great multitude of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying:
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom he bestows his favor."
When the angels left them and went to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let us go to Bethlehem, and let us see what has happened, which the Lord has made known to us."
So they ran there and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger.
Luke 2:1-16

the death of christ

When they arrived at the place called Skull, there they crucified him with the criminals, one on his right and the other on his left.
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." So they divided his clothes, drawing lots.
Luke 23:33,34

There was an inscription above it, which read: THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Luke 23:38

It was now almost noon, and darkness covered the whole land until three o'clock in the afternoon;  the sun had ceased to shine. And the veil of the sanctuary was torn in two.
Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit." Having said that, he expired.
The centurion, seeing what had happened, praised God, saying, "Surely this man was righteous."
Luke 23:44-47

There was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good and just man,  who had not consented to the decision and procedure of others. He was from the city of Arimathea, in Judea, and was waiting for the Kingdom of God.
Going to Pilate, he asked for the body of Jesus.
So he took him down, wrapped him in a linen sheet, and placed him in a tomb hewn out of the rock, in which no one had yet been laid.
Luke 23:50-53

resurrection

The Resurrection  of Christ

On the first day of the week, early in the morning, the women took the aromatic spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,  but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
They were perplexed, not knowing what to do. Suddenly two men in clothes that shone like sunlight stood beside them.
Frightened, the women lowered their faces to the ground, and the men said to them, "Why are you looking for the living among the dead?
He is not here! Risen! Remember what he said to you when he was still with you in Galilee:
'It is necessary that the Son of Man be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and rise again on the third day'".
Luke 24:1-7

As they were talking about this, Jesus himself came among them and said to them, "Peace be with you!"
They were startled and afraid, thinking they were seeing a spirit.
He said to them, "Why are you troubled and why do doubts arise in your hearts?
See my hands and my feet. I am myself! Touch me and see; a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you can see that I have".
Having said this, he showed them his hands and feet.
And because they still did not believe, so full were they with joy and amazement, he asked them: "Do you have something to eat here?"
They gave him a piece of roasted fish,  and he ate it in their presence.
And he said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything that was written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled."
Luke 24:36-44

salvation

Salvation is by the grace of Christ.

The Bible says, "We believe that we are saved by the grace of our Lord Jesus...". Acts 15:11.

“Nevertheless God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, made us alive together with Christ while we were still dead in transgressions—by grace you are saved.” Ephesians 2:4,5.

“For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8.

We are saved through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Word of God says, “For it is my Father's will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6. 40.

“For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8.

"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you and your household will be saved." Acts 16:31.

"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9.

The grace of God is the cause of our salvation and  faith in Jesus Christ is the means by which we receive salvation.

What must we do to be saved?

First, we must repent of our sins.

Scripture says, "I preached first to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and all Judea, and also to the Gentiles, telling them to repent and turn to God, doing works that show their repentance." . (Acts 26.20).

Second, we must trust Jesus Christ.

The Bible says, "I have testified to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God with repentance and faith in our Lord Jesus." (Acts 20.21).
